My Story

Helping others to see and develop the potential in themselves in creative, playful ways: that has been my passion since childhood. And this is my story.

Caring Karen

This alliterative nickname was bestowed on me once during an exercise. And, I must say, it's spot on !

During my studies in social pedagogy, I learned that I can allow myself to be moved by the beauty and the rawness of the lives of the people I guide. But I also learned that I cannot solve things for them. Allowing myself to be moved without taking over, being a caring presence: this has become a common thread in who I am and how I work. I look for qualities in people and, in doing so, strengthen their self-esteem and self-reliance.

Open-minded and inquisitive

I then went to work in the world of occupational health and safety. I gave numerous training courses to help workers assess the risks in their jobs. This is how I learned, as a trainer, to look at participants without judgment. No matter who's in front of me. Only when I remain open-minded and inquisitive and move forward with them do I make progress.

We need to take ourselves more seriously and learn to listen, watch, observe and sense.

– Johannes Schmidt, Inner Navigation

Accelerated development

When I was 35, and the mother of three energetic sons, I made the switch to HR consultancy. I made the leap and just did it.

What were the results? My experience as a trainer and my fresh approach to consultancy turned out to be an asset to clients. Together, we embarked on particularly intense projects with significant impact, which was a real accelerator in terms of my professional and personal development.

Never underestimate the power of a few committed people to change the world.

– Margeret Mead

Entrepreneurship and making choices

I gradually discovered that I wanted to be in charge of my own life. It was only when a client asked me to come be a part of their team that it became abundantly clear to me that saying "no" actually brings opportunities. This led to the birth of Jungo: I connect. With myself, with others, with life.

As for the future, your task is not to foresee it but to enable it.

– Antoine de Saint-Exupéry

A broad horizon

I keep challenging myself to grow. Theory U, Trauma Healing, Systemic Constellations work, Self Connection: a wide range of training courses, especially on personal growth and development, offer me a broad horizon.

Conscious Movement

I am convinced that talking alone isn't enough to provoke profound change. What does work? Looking and listening to what our body is showing us. And connecting mind, heart and body. Which is why I am now training to be a dance and movement therapist at Agape Belgium!

Conscious awareness of movement is vital to experiencing the Wholeness of Life.

And furthermore ...

I love life and what it has brought me: three sons of my own, as well as three in my extended family. I enjoy travelling, being in nature while cycling and walking, reading and learning. Preferably in the company of my soul mate and partner Jan.

Life is beautiful not because of the things we see or do. Life is beautiful because of the people we meet."

– Simon Sinek
